BENDERRAnews, 26/10/18 (Moscow): “Role of Pol Parties in Reducing International Tensions and Combatting Violent Extremism”, speech by Mr Theo L Sambuaga at the Opening Session of 10th General Assembly of International Conference of Asia Political Parties (ICAPP), at Moscow, (25/10/18 ).
Thats eight pointer issues of the speech, of Indonesia senior politician:
1. Regarding the sub item of Combatting Violent Extremism, as an associaton of political parties it is the nature of ICAPP to reach it goals based on Democracy and peaceful way. In this regard we should push our governments to enhance their cooperation in combatting violent ectremism or tertorism in its all manifestations. This Includes methods to prevent them from barbarian actions before it happens.
2. Nowadays terrorism has increased its international network and applied modern methods including advance technology. Peoples and government cannot lost, they can and should defeat terrorism if they keep enhancing their cooperation.
3. We need not only to reduce international tensions but we should work hard and hand in hand to try to come to solution.
4. Regarding The theme of reducing international tensions, Thanks to the progress of talk and dialog which has been going on Korean Peninsula issue. We should put forwad the effort of complete denuclearization and reach peaceful and eternal reunited Korea. We beleive only through dialog and peaceful way, this noble goal will be reached,
5. On the issue of South China Sea , we believe and should push all countries involved in this long existing Disputes to continue their dialog and prevent from violent action particularly military provovation.
6. We beleive that to seek for a comprehensive solution international issues should be adressed by multilatralism way. Bilataralism will of course strenghen and complete the solution. But never taking Unilateralism.
7. The US withdrawal from Paris Agreement is only weakening global cooperation in adfressing Climate Change issue. Its withdrawal from UN Human Rights Commision also reducing world effort to handle the human rights violtaion which is still occured in many part in the globe. Only last week the US withdrawal from Nuclear Profiletary Aggreement with Russia, only thraten peace and stabilty of the globe. We shouls ask the US Congress and goverment to reconsider to return to these commitment.
8. We should harness effort to convince goverments particularly the powerful nations to prefer multilateralism rather than unilateralism. US-China Trade War is another issue that should be addressed by particularly the two biggest economies by refrain from escalating the war. The world economy has been continued to be deteriorated if they dont come to term, at the cost of the developing and least developed countries.

In Indonesia, Sambuaga is former Vice of Presidents of Partai Golongan Karya (Golkar), and now as Vise of Advisory Council in the 2nd biggest political parties in Indonesia.
