Announced !!! Jokowi and his running mate Dr Ma’ruf declares election victory in a Jakarta Kampung

BENDERRAnews, 21/5/19 (Jakarta): The final result is coming. Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and his running mate Dr Ma’ruf Amin declared their presidential election victory, which was announced ahead of the May 22 deadline by the General Elections Commission, or KPU, in Kampung Deret, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday.

Both of them delivered a speech to a large crowd gathering near a train track on Jalan Tanah Tinggi I.

“I also want to see how Kampung Deret that I helped build [when I was Jakarta governor] is doing,” Jokowi said.

Jokowi was governor of Jakarta from 2012 to 2014. He won his first term as Indonesian president in 2014.

Kampung Deret

Jokowi arrived in Kampung Deret at around 12:30 p.m. wearing his customary long-sleeved white shirt and black trouser pants. Police officers arrived earlier to secure the area.

Kampung Deret was one of Jokowi’s development model when he was governor of Jakarta. He turned the previously chaotic kampung into a neat row of brick houses with asbestos roof in 2013.

“We are the president and vice president of all the people of Indonesia. We are the leaders and protectors of all the Indonesian people. We will fight for social justice for every one of you,” Jokowi told the Kampung Deret residents. Thats accordingto The Jakarta Globe. (B-tJG/jr)
